تم إنشاء كلية الآداب في جامعة الزقازيق 75/1976م وكانت تشغل جزء من مبني كلية التربية القديم بشارع فاروق بمدينة الزقازيق.
نقلت الكلية إلي موقعها الحالي في المبني مستقل لها داخل الحرم الجامعى تم افتتاحه العام الجامعى 80/ 1981م.
تشهد الكلية في كل عام طفرة وإضافة سواء علي المستوي المباني أو المدرجات أو المعامل حتي أصبحت الكلية في شكلها الخالي مكونه من ثلاث مبان وأربع مدرجات ولا زال العطاء مستمر
